My name is Tim. I currently serve as Associate Director of Christian Challenge in Tucson, AZ and the College Director at First Southern Baptist Church. I am so blessed to work with College Students from both the University of Arizona(Go Wildcats!) and Pima Community College.
I'm a UofA alum and received a degree in Religious Studies and Psychology. I am currently a seminary student at Golden Gate Baptist Theological seminary where I hope to(one day) complete a Masters of Divinity. I'm not really sure if God will continue to keep me in college ministry or move me into another area of ministry. But I'm not really concerned where I might end up. Right now I'm content to be serving where I am having the opportunity to develop a variety of ministry skills in a plethora of ministry contexts.
The great thing about college ministry is that we do discipleship and spiritual formation with our students, training and equipping our students to do ministry too! So as the needs of various ministries and churches come up I get the opportunity to help lead students in serving in everything from kids camps to refugee ministries!
Another area of ministry and spiritual gifting God has allowed me to explore in ministry is preaching and communicating the truth of God's Word in large groups.
I know I have a lot to learn and I'm excited to continue growing in this gift as God allows me opportunities to refine and develop the gift of preaching/teaching.
In addition to my responsibilities and obligations in Collegiate Ministry and Seminary, I also serve in the U.S. Army Reserve. I've had the opportunity to deploy overseas twice, and God was able to use both experiences to grow me in so many ways.
