We're Baaaack!

Last night was our very first Christian Challenge Ministry team meeting of the year.  It's a group of 26 students that are growing more in love with Jesus and one another.  It was encouraging to see all of them back and hear how God has worked in their lives this past summer.

In our staff meeting before the ministry team meeting, our director expressed this great sense of expectancy and hesitancy about this year.  Just a great sense of God preparing to shake things up this year at Challenge.  I'm really glad she mentioned that because she expressed how I felt a lot better. I too have a sense of God working change in the lives of the students that come to Challenge.  The fear, or hesitant expectancy I have is, "am I ready?"  The last thing that I would want is to be a hindrance to the work God is doing in the lives of the students.  And I dont want to get left behind!

After the staff meeting we came back to Challenge to find some of our student leaders already planning on their own for the upcoming year.  Exciting and scary all at the same time because it makes me question whether or not I'm really prepared and whether or not I will be a hindrance or a help to what God is doing.  The students are keeping me on my toes and Challenging me which is good.

This morning I was greatly encouraged and challenged by our leaders again.  A new student recently joined our facebook group and immediately one of our student leaders jumped on getting to know the student, encourage them and invite them to our fellowship.  This is a really good indication of what to continue expecting from our students.  They're mobilizing and moving in mission for God.  So like so many of our Ministry team has said, I look forward to this year with great expectancy.
