Weekly Readiness Guide-example

(date)

Reflect:

1.  What struggles have I had with displeasing thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors towards God?
a. Write down what thoughts, attitudes and behaviors are causing a barrier in your relationship with God

1a. Towards others?
a. What thoughts, attitudes, or behaviors have caused barriers in your relationships with people?

2. How did I give into sin? What footholds have I let Satan have?
What thoughts or attitudes led to selfish behaviors that caused me to seek satisfaction and fulfillment outside of God?  What areas of idolatry in my life am I having a difficult time giving up and allowing Satan to destroy my life and make me an ineffective soldier in the Army of God?

Goals:

1.   How will I combat these problem areas next week?  How do I get rid of enemy strong holds?
Specifically what thoughts and behaviors need to be developed into habits to address the sins you’ve just listed and bring you back into restored relationship with God and other people? Or to allow you to live a balanced and healthy life.

2.  Which spiritual discipline will I try to develop this coming week?
Developing habits requires discipline, which spiritual discipline encapsulates what you need to focus on this week?

3.  How will I develop this spiritual discipline?
(be specific)
a.  Scriptural truths(scripture) that you can meditate on to change your thoughts
b.  People that will hold you accountable
c.  How will people hold you accountable

8.  Relational Goals:
(unsaved, saved)
Unsaved:
How will you build your relationship by expressing love and care for the unsaved friend you are focusing on this month?(from Monthly Guide) Do/say/be around? How you will interact with this person this week.
Saved:
How will you build your relationship with the saved friend from your Monthly guide? Do/say/be around?  How you will interact with this person this week.

Plan:
Life Centering Practices
(Scheduled Times)
Worship time
a.  Is there a regular time and practice of doing nothing but reflecting on Who God is and bringing Him praise?
b.  Scheduling a regular time to do this helps create an attitude of worship that stays with you throughout the month

Recreation/Relaxation
  1. What activities help you relax and feel refreshed/re-energized?
  2. What kinds of activities are fun for you? Schedule in time to do it
Solitude
  1. You need to spend some time to think and plan, time to just spend alone with God
  2. Reflect on your past week and prepare for the new one.
Hobbies
  1. What activities are you passionate about that bring you joy, but are outside of your job or life roles?
  2. Take the time to keep up with the hobbies that bring you satisfaction

Scheduled Tasks
1.     Write down all the things you know you need to do that have definite due dates and times
2.    Plug these events and tasks into your Weekly timeline
Unscheduled Tasks
1.     Write down all the things you know that need to get done and are weighing your mind
2.    These are things you don’t have definite due dates or times for

Timeline:
Do you know what you have to do this week?  Lay out all the scheduled events in your weekly timeline so you don’t over commit to activities you don’t have time for. Reference your Life roles and Ministry roles.  You may find that a lot of the scheduled events you have don’t align with your focused roles.  Lay out the activities you have for the day and the start times, make sure you have adequate time to actually complete what you have on the agenda between activities
