Thank goodness for Pandora! This song came on and somehow it linked to the book ends to my day. Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to go to the Men's Morning prayer at FSBC Tucson and the passage Pastor Randy shared was Isaiah 64.
The focus of our prayer time centering on desiring the presence of God to be among the people of our church not just on Sunday but every day. For our people to be united glorifying God so that His Awesome presence would be felt in our midst and that we persevere in obedience to the Lord so that we might be ready to take part in the Lord's great works.
Then to close out my day I was at FSBC Tucson's Northwest Life Group and we worked through Joshua 6. This passage recounts the marvelous act of God's mercy, faithfulness and power as He brings down the city of Jericho so that the Israelites can take possession of their inheritance.
How does this all tie together?
I'm glad you asked that question! On the surface the only thing that might seem to tie these two together is that both passages are in the Old Testament, however I think that both passages reveal a great deal about Who God is and how He desires us to respond to Him.
Unfortunately...you'll have to wait till my next random thought to see how that all fits together!
