Always

Honestly the past few weeks I have been very afraid of the future.  I feel alone, overwhelmed and like I'm sinking.  I know that soon my life will be going through some change.  That I'll be entering a season of painful growth and I'm scared.  I don't know how I'm going to get through it.  I'm afraid of failing and falling.  The storm is on the horizon and I'm freaking out as I approach the looming tempest.
However, I should have no reason to be afraid.  Regardless of the future I should know that I'm in the firm grasp of God's hand (Jn 10:29, Rom 8:38-39).  In Christ my future is clear and certain.  I have nothing to fear.

So through this week I'm holding on to that truth that God will never leave me nor forsake me (Deut 31:6, Heb 13:5, Ps.27:1, 56:3-4, Matt 28:20).  I'm going to do my best to be reminded that God is a refuge and ever present strength in times of trial (Ps. 46:1, 91:2).  That my God is a God who has trained my hands for war and fingers for battle (Ps.144:1-2).  I'm holding on to these things so that I can have the freedom to move into this week with boldness and courage to do what God has appointed me to do in the places and with the people He's entrusted me for this present time (Rom 13:11, Mk. 1;15).

This week's song is "Always" by Kristian Stanfill.

Here are the lyrics:
My foes are many, they rise against me
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always

Troubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always

I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
From You Lord, from You Lord

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always, always
